Amazing parents or amazED parents?

What can I possibly say that would add more to this blog entry than the pictures of this beautiful family already say?

Sunday, after a busy morning at church, the slightly weary parents retreat to Cook Park's butterfly garden.

AWWWWWW....

Just could not be prouder of my son!
Grand Dad is always ready to soothe the baby with his magic touch.

So much perfection in such a small package!

Oh, yeah!

Being a grandmother is everything I always dreamed it would be. It is all extravagant love and joy with no worries. Jonathan and Kristin totally have the parenting thing down and they are doing a supreme job of caring for this tiny treasure. I couldn't decide what I loved more, seeing Susannah with all of her myriad cute expressions and darling features, or watching J & K love on her and each other. We just reveled in every minute with them.

I have lots of pictures to share in future blogs. Check back here later to see us enjoying our happy times!

She's HERE!

Our granddaughter, our little sweetheart and the newest little Thompson has arrived! Praise God! Her name is ....
Susannah Joy!
How beautiful is that?
Susannah is a Hebrew name meaning Lily.

She arrived at 9:21 p.m. at Providence Hospital in Newberg, OR. She weighs 8 lbs. 4 oz. and is 20 inches long. Can't wait to see pictures of her and share them with my friends!

We are so thankful to the Lord and so happy!

Baby Watch

Well, today is the DAY! It's 5:30 p.m. and Kristin and Jonathan are at the hospital right now where he is posting updates on his blog. It has already been a long day for them since they spent a restless night wondering if her sporadic contractions meant anything. Jonathan called me at 7:45 a.m. to say Kristin was admitted and settled in her room, already at 4 cms.

I don't really have a lot else to say at the moment. I am cruising around blog-land, checking back in with his blog every 5 minutes and I needed something to do to pass the time.

Dum-de-dum-de-dum. Hurry up clock! Time drags when it is measured out in 5 minute increments.

Emily & Bevin

E & B hung out with me yesterday while Mommy was busy. Emily wrote and colored a little book about flowers from the garden...
Bevin played with Abby...
and we all had a happy time!

Grandma shower

My friends from my Monday evening Bible study gave me a "grandma shower" yesterday and I am afraid that the truth is hard to face. This is what I will become in about two weeks when our little granddaughter arrives on the scene. (Maybe I will be able to find a way to snap back as I did after I was pregnant those four times). Yesterday, for a couple of hours, I looked just like my own Grandmas--except that they had a lot more style than this.
